‘Married at First Sight’ Season 18: Only 1 Couple Says Yes on Decision Day

The moment has come for the remaining <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/married-at-first-sight/?swcfpc=1″>Married at First Sight</a> Chicago couples to make a choice.

Heading into Decision Day, three of this season’s five couples have already made a call on their future together. <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/married-at-first-sight-ikechi-blindsides-emem-divorce-papers-couples-retreat.html/”>Emem and Ikechi</a>, Madison and Allen, and Michelle and David have already gone their separate ways, the latter two thanks to a partner-swapping cheating scandal involving Madison and David. That leaves just Karla and Juan and Camille and Thomas still standing at the end of the eight weeks. But will either pair opt to remain together going forward?

Juan might call Karla his “best friend.” But he doesn’t want to call her his wife. Unfortunately, the writing has been on the wall for this pair for a while. Although they enjoy each other’s company and have had fun moments as a couple, there’s no romantic spark.

“I never felt that magnetism toward her,” Juan admits when they sit down with <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/married-at-first-sight-dr-pepper-schwartz-explained-looking-matching-couples.html/”>the MAFS experts</a> on Decision Day. Meanwhile, Karla feels Juan is closed off to new experiences and isn’t willing to embrace her spirituality. He doesn’t want to be with a “magical unicorn,” she says, and she’s not willing to “dim her light” for anyone.

“I’m choosing to end this marriage and get a divorce … we weren’t truly compatible,” she says.

Juan agrees.

“I think we should get divorced,” he says.

What of <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/mafs-chicago-camille-thomas-why-agreed-married-at-first-sight-exclusive.html/”>Camille and Thomas</a>? They have a solid connection, both emotional and physical. But is that enough? Thomas has made some comments that have caused Camille to worry that he might not be fully committed to their marriage, including a reluctance to move in together after Decision Day for logistical reasons. She didn’t want to feel like the past eight weeks were just “playing house” and feared he was being “vague” and “complacent.”

But Thomas is all in. He gets down on one knee and presents the former high school basketball player with a ball inscribed with the words “Let’s stay married.”

It’s the kind of decisive gesture Camille has been longing to see.

“It’s been such a rollercoaster … I really cannot see a world where I wouldn’t be married to you,” she says. “I would love to stay married.”

The eight-week Married at First Sight experiment has come to an end, but that doesn’t mean this season is over. The Chicago cast meets up for drinks, and what is supposed to be a friendly get together quickly turns tense.

David and Madison show up together, putting both their exes on edge. Allen refuses to shake David’s hand, while Michelle deliberately avoids both him and Madison.

“I’m more upset than I thought I would be with them walking in here,” she says in an interview.

But it’s Emem and Ikechi who have the first blowup, as she unloads her true feelings about her dysfunctional marriage. Ikechi again tries to cast his ex-wife as the aggressor in their relationship (over the objections of several cast members), which causes her to explode.

“He’s not a person. That man’s a monster,” Emem tells a producer.

Next up for a showdown are Madison and Michelle. First, Allen rebuffs David’s olive branch, pointing out that if they had truly been friends, David would not have behaved the way he did.

Then, Madison jumps in to defend her duplicitous actions.

“I think all of us knew Michelle and David were not going to be together at the end of this,” she says. “She didn’t give a s*** about David.”

Michelle is at the bar mixing a drink, but she overhears Madison.

“You want to wait until I get over there?” she says. “Because I don’t think you know my feelings.”

“You want to do this right now, babe?” Madison asks. “You really do?”

“Let me make some beverage,” Emem says, just before a teaser for next week’s episode shows more of Madison and Michelle’s confrontation. “Because this s*** is about to be crazy.”
