<p id=”par-3_36″>“Of late, I feel she is a follower. She’s following the trends,” Perry told <a target=”_blank” href=”https://consequence.net/2026/05/linda-perry-madonna-collaboration-weak/” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Consequence</a>. “She’s trying to compete with Charli XCX and this and that. Everything about her seems weak to me, and not powerful.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_19″>Perry thinks Madonna would embrace <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/madonna-named-5-most-iconic-songs-2-picks-bad.html/”>being a music icon</a> instead of attempting to do what younger artists are doing.</p>
<p id=”par-5_41″>“She’s one of the greatest,” she said. “She taught women to be strong and be yourself, and I love how she just constantly was changing her sound. Every record sounded different. I mean, she is an explorer. She is a leader.”</p>

<p id=”par-6_17″>Perry said that if she produced Madonna’s music, she would encourage her to embrace her natural talent.</p>
<p id=”par-7_99″>“When Madonna is ready to retire, she should make that album with me because I’ll make her such a great album,” she said. “I would love to get that woman in a studio, slap her in the face a couple times and say, ‘Wake up. Get back to who Madonna is and what you represent. You are a leader, so we gotta get back there.’ And focus on the power of what her voice can do, not the power of what Auto-Tune and effects can do, and all the electronics that she’s into right now to hide all that.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_52″>Perry wants to put Madonna “out in the open.” She thinks this would allow the singer to “just show [her flaws] and make this beautiful, more acoustic type of record with strings. Something she could sit down and just sing to a crowd that’s wearing nice clothes at Carnegie Hall or whatever.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_12″>She doesn’t foresee a collaboration between them happening any time soon, though.</p>
<p id=”par-10_36″>“She will not step into a room with me, ’cause that is far from what Madonna wants to do,” she said. “So, Madonna, call me when you’re ready to get back to your strength, all right?”</p>

<p id=”par-12_53″>“We must dance, celebrate, and pray with our bodies,” she said in a statement, per <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.billboard.com/lists/madonna-confessions-ii-everything-we-know/its-a-dance-album/” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Billboard</a>. “These are things that we’ve been doing for thousands of years — they really are spiritual practices. After all, the dance floor is a ritualistic space. It’s a place where you connect—with your wounds, with your fragility.”</p>
