<p id=”par-1_54″>Kid Cudi and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/kanye-west/?swcfpc=1″>Kanye West</a> were once friends, but they haven’t been on good terms for years. When asked if he had any intentions of setting aside the disagreement, Cudi said a reunion with the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/music/”>rapper</a> was not likely. He shared the only, unlikely thing West could do to reestablish a friendship with him.</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-kid-cudi-and-kanye-west-had-a-falling-out”>Kid Cudi and Kanye West had a falling out</h2>
<p id=”par-2_58″>In Cudi’s early years as an artist, he signed to West’s G.O.O.D. Music label. West then appeared on Cudi’s 2009 single “Make Her Say (I Poke Her Face).” In 2013, he announced he was leaving the label, but that he still viewed West as a brother to him. Their relationship soon took a turn for the worse, though.</p>

<p id=”par-3_42″>In 2014, Cudi discovered through social media that West used his vocals on the song “Guilt Trip.” Though flattered West thought of him, Cudi <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/kid-cudi-upset-kanye-west-putting-yeezus.html/”>felt slightly insulted</a> that he was underutilized. The following year, he said he felt West had used him. </p>
<p id=”par-4_53″>The pair mended their relationship and were friendly for several years. In 2022, however, West said Cudi would not appear on <em>Donda 2</em> because of his friendship with Pete Davidson. At the time, West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, was dating the comedian. Cudi has since said that he does not consider West a friend.</p>

<p id=”par-6_75″>“I just want to clear that up for anybody that feels like Kanye made my career or made me who I am,” he told <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/a40895903/kid-cudi-entergalactic-reborn/” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Esquire</a>. “He brought me on to do <em>808s</em>. I thought that was really f***ing awesome. I wanted to be a part of a family and saw G.O.O.D. Music as that opportunity. So I finally said yeah. Kanye West did not come and pluck me out of Applebee’s or the Bape store.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_17″>While they had set their problems aside in the past, Cudi did <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/kid-cudi-says-kanye-west-needs-held-accountable-does-over-over.html/”>not anticipate that happening</a> again.</p>
<p id=”par-8_42″>“With all due respect, I’m not Drake, who’s about to take a picture with him next week and be friends again, and their beef is squashed,” he said. “That’s not me. What I say, I mean. I will be done with you.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_13″>He shared the only way he might extend an olive branch to West.</p>
<p id=”par-10_29″>“It’s gonna take a motherf***ing miracle for me and that man to be friends again,” he said. “I don’t see it happening. He gon’ have to become a monk.”</p>

<p id=”par-11_33″>In recent years, West has had falling outs with other friends. Jay-Z, who worked with West from the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jay-z-felt-skepticism-kanye-west-wanted-release-debut-album.html/”>early days of his career</a>, did not <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jay-z-started-real-real-problem-kanye-west-said-beyonce.html/”>appreciate West calling out Beyoncé</a> during a concert.</p>

He’s talked about me 100 times. He made a song called ‘Big Brother.’ We’ve gotten past bigger issues. But you brought my family into it. Now it’s a problem with me. That’s a real, real problem. And he knows it’s a problem.”</p>
