<p id=”par-2_61″>Kim gave birth to her first child, North West, at a time when Khloé was having a difficultly getting pregnant. Khloé was dating <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/lamar-odom-reflects-on-cheating-on-khloe-kardashian-i-was-having-full-blown-relationships-on-the-road.html/”>basketball star Lamar Odom</a> at the time, and was very open about the lack of progress they made in trying to conceive. Because of biological barriers, Khloé had to resort to medication to try to have a child.</p>
<p id=”par-3_46″>“Everyone puts so much pressure on Lamar and I to have kids and I do feel that pressure. I went to the doctors and figured out that I need to use hormone injections,” Khloé once said on <em>The Tonight Show with Jay Leno </em>(via <a href=”https://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/khloe-kardashian-295834.html”>Female First</a>).</p>
<p id=”par-4_54″>Kim was concerned that Khloé might’ve gotten upset if she learned about her and Kanye West’s upcoming child. So, Kim decided to keep her pregnancy a secret from Khloé for a while. Khloé had to learn about the pregnancy on a reality special the same way some <em>Keeping up with the Kardahian </em>fans did.</p>
<p id=”par-5_34″>“I found out by watching <em>Kourtney and Kim Take Miami</em> that Kourtney said, ‘This is going to push Khloe over the edge and we can’t tell her.’ I got offended by that,” she said.</p>
<p id=”par-6_19″>Khloé confided she would’ve been far less offended if Kim just came out and told her about the pregnancy.</p>

<p id=”par-8_44″>Khloé might not have truly been trying to conceive when she was with her ex Lamar Odom. Their relationship had a lot of ups and downs, with Odom battling substance abuse issues at the time. Soon, this resulted in the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/lamar-odom-hopes-make-up-one-day-khloe-kardashian-sorry-exclusive.html/”>two ending their relationship</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-9_29″>In an episode of <em>Keeping up with the Kardashians</em>, Khloé revealed that she didn’t really want a child with Odom. She made the surprising confession while visiting a gynecologist.</p>
<p id=”par-10_25″>“Yes, I fake tried…I was married, but I knew the circumstances weren’t the healthiest. So, I just kept pretending I was doing it,” she said.</p>
<p id=”par-11_18″>Khloé then revealed that she was taking medications to get pregnant mostly for Odom’s sake than her own.</p>
<p id=”par-12_31″>“When I was doing my fertility treatments, they were more so for Lamar…. I had to stop because there was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage,” she said.</p>
<p id=”par-13_26″>Khloé would eventually have kids with her ex-boyfriend and basketball star Tristan Thompson. They gave birth to a daughter in 2018, and a son in 2022.</p>

<p id=”par-14_41″>The possibility of getting a surrogate mother was a conversation Khloé jokingly had with her mother far back when she was with Odom. Kris Jenner would recommend herself as a possible surrogate for Khloé and Odom, but Khloé declined the proposal.</p>
<p id=”par-15_59″>“She did say it but I think it was more in a joking, passing way. I’m sure she would love to just because she’s crazy. But, no, that’s too gross,” Khloé said. “I mean I appreciate it but my mum … isn’t that, like, a little old to do that? Can’t you only do that at a certain age?”</p>
<p id=”par-16_34″>But eventually, Khloé really would resort to using a surrogate mother to have Tatum. Khloe admitted that she went into surrogacy with limited knowledge on the procedure, which would come back to hurt her.</p>
<p id=”par-17_83″>“I definitely was in a state of shock from my entire experience in general. I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby and I take the baby and go to another room and you are separated,” she said on <em>The Kardashians</em>. “It felt like such a transactional experience because it is not about him. I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it. But it doesn’t mean it is bad or good. It is just very different<em>.</em>“</p>
<p id=”par-18_13″>She admitted this had an unwanted impact on her closeness with her son.</p>
<p id=”par-19_48″>“But a surrogate process —Kim knows — is very hard for me. It’s a mindf***.
