<p id=”par-1_51″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/kanye-west/”>Kanye West</a> and Bianca Censori caught a lot of backlash <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/grammys-producer-confirms-kanye-west-bianca-censori-invited-ceremony.html/”>at the Grammys</a> when Censori wore virtually nothing after disrobing. But the incident showed just how much the rapper has changed over the years. The old West once famously freaked out over his ex-wife Kim Kardashian wearing much less revealing outfits.</p>

<p id=”par-2_53″>Nowadays, it’s alleged that Kardashian <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/kim-kardashian-clocking-kanye-west-including-dresses-bianca-censori-source-says.html/”>clocks everything West does</a>, including how he dresses Censori. However, when Kardashian and West were together, it was West who was paying close attention to what his partner wore. The business mogul didn’t hold back his feelings regarding his ex-wife’s attire, even with the cameras on him. </p>
<p id=”par-3_51″>On season 17 of <em>Keeping Up with the Kardashians</em>, West expressed concern over a dress Kardashian wore to a Met Gala event. The argument led to West confessing how his identity as a rap artist warped his view of having a girlfriend. But that perception changed after his marriage to Kardashian.</p>
<p id=”par-4_67″>“I went through this transition where being a rapper, looking at all these girls and looking at my wife, like, ‘Oh my girl needs to be just like the other girls showing their body off,’” West said, according to <a href=”https://people.com/music/kanye-west-addresses-comments-kim-kardashians-sexy-outfits/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>. “I didn’t realize that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone who is married and the father of now about to be four kids.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_39″>West later expressed to Kardashian that, apart from her Met Gala dress that day, what she wore in general had an impact on him. But Kardashian refused to change her clothes or wardrobe habits just to placate her ex.</p>
<p id=”par-6_34″>“You built me up to be this sexy person and confidence and all this. And just because you’re on a journey and transformation doesn’t mean I’m in the same spot with you,” she said.</p>
<p id=”par-7_34″>In an interview with <em><a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuOCvKvrwI8&ab_channel=AppleMusic” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Apple Music</a></em>, West delved a little further into his fight with Kardashian. He confided that social media amplified the suffering he already felt regarding his wife’s image and his own.</p>
<p id=”par-8_41″>“I suffer, and I appreciate the suffering because we can feel a little bit of what Jesus experienced. But I suffer on social media,” West said. “There are other married men that I know are happy to hear me say that.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_53″>“Social media prompts women, in particular, to put out content that they wouldn’t in the past,” West added. “When I was younger and I wanted to see something like that, I had to pay someone who was older … Now I have friends who have kids in high school, and it’s readily available.”</p>

<p id=”par-10_31″>Kardashian and West weren’t always at odds when it came to Kardashian’s fashion choices. Earlier in their marriage, the beauty mogul even complimented West for changing her style for the better.</p>
<p id=”par-11_44″>“I really think that my relationship with my husband Kanye really changed everything,” Kardashian once said in an interview with <a href=”https://www.cnn.com/style/article/kim-kardashian-fashion-style-tips/index.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>CNN Style</a>. “I mean, back in the day, I thought I had the best style. I look back at outfits, and I’m, like, mortified.”</p>
<p id=”par-12_15″>She credited West’s fashion expertise for helping her bring out the best in her threads.</p>
<p id=”par-13_38″>“Kanye sees what’s out there on the streets and just knows how to translate that into something that would look good on me,” Kardashian gushed. “Just helping me push my limits a little bit and trying new things.”</p>

<p id=”par-15_48″>“I remember one day, he brought me [former Vogue Paris editor and current CR Fashion Book editor] Carine Roitfeld’s book and was like, ‘You should be, like, studying this book. This is, like, the fashion bible.’ And I was like, ‘Who is Carine?’ I knew nothing,” she said.</p>
<p id=”par-16_45″>It got to the point where Kardashian would always go to West for style advice. However, it was one of the many things that changed about their relationship over time. Kardashian even admitted it <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/kim-kardashian-admits-scary-navigate-fashion-world-after-divorce-kanye-west.html/”>was scary navigating the fashion world</a> without West after their divorce.</p>
