<p id=”par-2_60″>Court documents obtained from <a href=”https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/kanye-west-no-lawyer-push-trial-date-ex-employee-tony-saxon-bianca-censori-twitter-rant/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>In Touch Weekly</a> show Kanye “Ye” West via his lawyer, Manoj Shah, asked the judge to postpone his trial date originally set for Feb. 24, 2025. West’s ex-employee, Tony Saxon, filed a discrimination lawsuit against West for when he worked for the mogul from September to November 2021. Saxon filed the lawsuit in September 2023. </p>
<p id=”par-3_32″>West’s former lawyer, Brian Brumfield, withdrew as West’s legal representation in July 2024. Brumfield noted that West “refused to pay counsel” after West “terminated” his relationship with Brumfield in June 2024. </p>
<p id=”par-4_38″>According to Shah, West interviewed up to 10 national, regional, and local defense litigation firms to represent him. However, the rapper allegedly “faced extreme hardship and difficulty retaining litigation counsel, due to exceedingly negative media coverage of Defendants.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_34″>West reportedly hired another lawyer, Eduardo Martorell, to take over lead counsel in several cases against West. According to Shah, Martorell needs more time due to West’s “extreme difficulties with retention of trial counsel.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_17″>West and his legal team asked the judge to push the trial date to August 2025. </p>
