<p id=”par-1_57″>This summer, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/jennifer-lopez/?swcfpc=1″>Jennifer Lopez</a> and her fourth husband, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/ben-affleck/?swcfpc=1″>Ben Affleck</a>, ended their <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/celebrity-relationships/?swcfpc=1″>marriage</a>. The couple were married for exactly two years, with Lopez filing for divorce on their anniversary. Her first husband, Ojani Noa, predicted their marriage would end this way. He said that in his experience, Lopez’s interest in fame and attention wore the relationship down.</p>

<p id=”par-2_38″>When Noa met Lopez, she was working as an actor but had not reached the levels of stardom she would eventually achieve. After <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-selena-career.html/”>starring in <em>Selena</em></a>, Lopez’s career blew up and, according to Noa, she began craving attention. </p>
<p id=”par-3_39″>“I felt she was [now] really enjoying the media attention,” he told the <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13847495/What-REALLY-like-married-J-Lo-husband-arrived-America-raft-wooed-served-restaurant.html” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Mail</a> in 2024. “I would say to her: ‘You have to be private. You can’t be real in a relationship if you’re always being photographed.’”</p>

<p id=”par-4_35″>He said <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jennifer-lopezs-1st-husband-lost-40-pounds-stress-marriage.html/”>it exhausted him</a> to pretend everything in their relationship was perfect. They would fight on the way to an event and then have to act as though everything was fine when they arrived.</p>
<p id=”par-5_90″>“I can tell you in my own experience, we would have disagreements in the car and then 20 minutes later, we’d have to sit and pretend everything was fine,” he said. “But you can only pretend so much. When we were going through hell and going out as a couple, I was in a bad mood too. Because I knew inside we were not good. I hated going on the red carpet. She would try and get me to come and I’d say: ‘No way. I’m not going to pretend.’”</p>
<p id=”par-6_21″>In his eyes, Lopez was more concerned about the way their relationship looked than the way it was behind the scenes. </p>
<p id=”par-7_47″>“If she meets someone new, maybe keep it private and not get married again,” he said. “She has an amazing career and she’s a hard-working, beautiful woman, but when you’re with someone, you have to spend quality time with them and not think about being on camera.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_21″>After less than a year of marriage, Noa and Lopez divorced. He said her team unfairly painted him as the villain. </p>
<p id=”par-9_69″>“I never looked at another woman when I was with Jennifer,” he said. “But I felt like I was [being seen as] the bad guy. [Her people] wanted to make her look good because of everything that was coming out — the movie, the album, and they didn’t want any bad publicity. They made it sound like I didn’t want to be with her and it was the opposite.”</p>
<p id=”par-10_17″>He believed that if she had been surrounded by a different team, their <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-think-11-month-1st-marriage-fair-shot.html/”>relationship might have lasted</a>.</p>

<p id=”par-11_24″>Noa observed Lopez’s marriage to Affleck from afar. From what he saw, Affleck seemed to have the same problems with <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/ben-affleck-realized-fair-ask-jennifer-lopez-keep-relationship-private.html/”>the attention on them</a>. </p>
<p id=”par-12_26″>“I’ve met him and he’s an amazing guy,” he said. “Even though they’re both in the spotlight, you can tell that he’s a really private man.”</p>
