Her divorce from Ben Affleck dominated headlines in 2024, as fans never expected the couple to separate after rekindling their flame in 2021. Unfortunately, Lopez’s difficult year impacted her professional life. She canceled her “This Is Me … Live” tour stating that she needed to prioritize spending time with her family. </p>
<p id=”par-3_37″>Lopez wants a fresh start heading into 2025. And she wants The Academy to recognize her acting abilities in <em><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/matt-damon-shut-down-ben-affleck-talk-j-lo-unstoppable-premiere-report.html/”>Unstoppable</a>.</em> Lopez plays Judy Robles in the film produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company. </p>
<p id=”par-4_58″>“She wants an Oscar for <em>Unstoppable</em>,” a source told <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13971225/Jennifer-Lopez-planning-comeback-2025-revenge-Ben-Affleck.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>DailyMail.com</a>. “She is sensational in it. I saw the movie and wow, she nails it. I think a lot of people have discounted her acting skills because she is such a glamazon but this film is a wake-up call, like, hey guys, she can really act her pants off.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_73″>The insider added that Lopez hoped to achieve an Oscar for <em>Hustlers.</em> She was disappointed when she didn’t get the recognition she thought she deserved. “There is a hope that she will get the gold for <em>Unstoppable</em>,” the source continued. “It helps that she is now seen as the victim in the Affleck split. I think voters may want to give her the award now; they feel she has been through a lot.”</p>

Now that she and Affleck are no longer together she allegedly wants to “wash away the stink” of the album and move on with something new in 2025. A source told <a href=”https://pagesix.com/2024/10/17/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-wants-a-new-hit-single/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Page Six</a> that <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-working-heartbreak-album-real-story-ben-affleck-divorce-source-says.html/”>Lopez’s team has “reached out to songwriters”</a> for her next “big dance hit.”</p>
<p id=”par-8_43″>“Her priority [career-wise] is music,” the source explained. “There is no point of her going into it unless it’s big, and critics say it’s the old Lopez. She needs a big banger. She wants to get hits, and put out a new album.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_58″>The source added that Lopez can’t “accept” <em>This Is Me … Now</em> as her final album, so she’s ready to dive in for more. “She has had an enormous amount of hits and can’t accept the last album is the end of her music career,” they explained. “She wants to wash away the stink of <em>This is Me … Now</em>.” </p>

<p id=”par-10_43″>Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez haven’t finalized their divorce yet. The couple tied the knot without a prenup, complicating their finances. Affleck and Lopez are allegedly figuring out how to potentially divide Affleck’s production company and their $68 million Beverly Hills mansion. </p>
