Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck bought their 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom Beverly Hills mansion for $60 million in 2023. In 2021, a source told <a href=”https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/jennifer-lopez-and-ben-affleck-looking-for-the-perfect-home/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>In Touch Weekly that Lopez and Affleck wanted to find their “together home” as soon as possible. “They want privacy, and they want to live the good life,” the source said at the time. “Whichever place they choose, it’ll be the perfect home to blend their family.”

Lopez served Affleck divorce papers in August 2024. A few months beforehand in June 2024, Affleck moved out of the mansion and into a Brentwood rental home. While the exes have been trying to sell their Beverly Hills mansion since July 2024, they haven’t had any good offers.

A source told <a href=”https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/jennifer-lopez-is-becoming-frustrated-with-mansion-not-selling/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>In Touch Weekly in December 2024 that Lopez “can’t wait” to get out of the house and “assumed it would have happened by now and someone would have snapped it up, especially after the renovations and personal touches she added …. Of course, she’s been told it’s only a select group of buyers who would be interested and have that kind of money, but it’s becoming increasingly frustrating being there.”

The insider added that Lopez feels “trapped” by the home, especially because of all of the memories it contains. “She walks around the house and feels all the bad memories,” they continued. “Not even her weird voodoo magic has helped. The place still has imprints of Ben everywhere.”

Jennifer Garner Takes a Subtle Swipe at Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s $68 Million Mansion

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are seemingly willing to lose nearly $25 million to sell their Beverly Hills mansion. A West Coast real estate investor told <a href=”https://www.newsnationnow.com/entertainment-news/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-home-sale/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>NewsNation that the house “is actually worth between $40 and $50 million” — a far cry from their asking price.

“It’s in a terrible location,” the investor continued. “Wallingford Estates is a gated community with no guard. Most homes in the area are from the 1970s and are worth between $5 to $10 million. This is just a huge white elephant. It’s garish, too big, and dated with amenities that are just silly and not necessary (like an indoor sports complex).”

The investor added that they felt the house was “ugly” and built by a “mediocre developer” with a “bad taste in architecture.”

“When it was built, it sat on the market for years and was listed at $100 million, so maybe (Affleck and Lopez) thought they got a deal for buying it at $61 million,” they continued. “But remember, they also put millions into renovating it to their tastes.”

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck don’t have to split the proceeds evenly

Joe Dillon, divorce mediator and financial negotiation expert at <a href=”https://www.equitablemediation.com/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Equitable Mediation, told Showbiz Cheat Sheet in a statement that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are under no legal requirement to evenly split the proceeds from selling their mansion.

“In the United States, divorcing couples can negotiate how they’ll share the money from the house sale,” Dillon said. “This process may result in an agreement where one person might receive a larger portion of the proceeds than the other.”

“The final division — in my experience — depends on what both parties consider fair, taking into account various aspects of their marriage and individual circumstances,” he continued. “Factors that might influence this decision include each person’s financial contribution to the home, one party’s need for liquidity to purchase another home, or in exchange for offering the other party a larger share of a different marital asset.”
