<p id=”par-1_30″><em><a href=”http://cheatsheet.com/tag/saturday-night-live”>Saturday Night Live</a></em>’s new season got a major update from NBC this week. Following news of a cast shakeup, the sketch show announced its initial schedule for <em>SNL</em> Season 50.</p>

<p id=”par-2_19″>Unfortunately, <em>Saturday Night Live </em>won’t be new tonight. The new season isn’t set to kick off until Sept. 28.</p>
<p id=”par-3_29″>Instead, NBC will reair a season 49 episode tonight during SNL’s normal timeslot. Tune in at 11:30 p.m. ET to see host Ryan Gosling and musical guest Chris Stapleton.</p>
<p id=”par-4_35″>The episode earned Gosling an Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series Emmy nomination, partly thanks to the wildly popular “Beavis and Butt-head” sketch. Gosling lost out on the trophy to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/fx-tasty-new-tv-show-the-bear-rotten-tomatoes.html/”><em>The Bear</em>’s Jon Bernthal</a>.</p>

<p id=”par-5_38″><em>Saturday Night Live </em>has made sure it’s worth the wait for its historic 50th season. Four straight brand-new episodes are scheduled, beginning Sept. 28. Another episode is scheduled for Nov. 2, just in time for the presidential election.</p>
<p id=”par-6_23″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jean-smart-dealt-massive-family-tragedy-while-filming-emmy-nominated-series-hacks.html/”><em>Hacks </em>star Jean Smart</a> will host the season 50 premiere. She’ll make her SNL debut and be joined by musical guest Jelly Roll.</p>
<p id=”par-7_30″>Then, comedian Nate Bargatze will host on Oct. 5. It’s the second time in less than a year for Bargatze, who will be supported by Coldplay as the music act.</p>
<p id=”par-8_31″>Ariana Grande returns to SNL on Oct. 12 to promote <em>Wicked</em>. Stevie Nicks will be the musical guest. This is her first time back on SNL in more than 40 years.</p>
<p id=”par-9_25″>The Oct. 19 episode will be led by <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/review-beetlejuice-beetlejuice-blows-original-out-water.html/”><em>Beetlejuice Beetlejuice </em>star Michael Keaton</a>. Pop star Billie Eilish will also be there as the musical guest.</p>
<p id=”par-10_21″>John Mullaney will host <em>Saturday Night Live</em>’s election episode on Nov. 2. Chappell Roan will perform, adding to the night’s excitement.</p>
