Blanco was born Benjamin Joseph Levin on March 8, 1988, in Reston Virginia.

He fell in love with music at an early age and began recording beats on his boombox. As a child, he was heavily influenced by legendary hip-hop artist Nas, and years later Blanco’s own rap music caught the attention of producers and executives from major record labels.

Gomez was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, to Ricardo Joel Gomez and Mandy Teefey on July 22, 1992; making her four years younger than Blanco. Her parents named her Selena after the Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla.
