<p id=”par-1_37″><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/king-charles/”>King Charles</a>‘ brother, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-andrew/?swcfpc=1″>Prince Andrew</a>, can’t keep his name out of the negative headlines. The disgraced Duke of York has been a real headache for <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/royal-family/?swcfpc=1″>the royal family</a> as he’s been involved in scandal after scandal. </p>
<p id=”par-2_31″>In addition to the sex abuse allegations with a minor and past friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew has also been associated with alleged Chinese spy Yang Tengbo. </p>
<p id=”par-3_35″>Following the prince’s latest embarrassment for the monarchy, he will not be attending a pre-Christmas luncheon at Buckingham Palace and won’t be joining the rest of the family at Sandringham for the holiday festivities. </p>
<p id=”par-4_67″>Now, it’s being reported that the king is urging his sibling to “fully withdraw” from the royal spotlight and not be seen on a public stage again. Some believe the monarch putting his foot down with Andrew has been a long time coming as future monarchs, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-william/?swcfpc=1″>Prince William</a> and the Princess of Wales (<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/dont-be-fooled-this-is-what-kate-middleton-was-really-like-in-school.html/”>formerly known as Kate Middleton</a>), washed their hands of the duke a while back.</p>

<p id=”par-5_50″>For the past few years, the Princess of Wales has hosted a Christmas Carol concert around the holidays at Westminster Abbey which several family members always attend. But one royal not on the guestlist was Prince Andrew and that is said to be because Kate flat-out refused to invite him.</p>
<p id=”par-6_52″><a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-14188219/EPHRAIM-HARDCASTLE-King-Charles-Prince-Andrew.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Mail</a> columnist Ephraim Hardcastle noted that Andrew was not missing due to scheduling conflicts or illness — he simply was not invited. There was a suggestion that the duke be invited but be seated “behind a pillar” to avoid drawing too much attention. However, that idea was met with a firm “no.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_50″>According to Hardcastle, “A mole whispers that for the second year running, suggestions that Andrew be invited to Kate’s annual carol service, possibly seated behind a pillar, were rejected. Although very much a family affair, with 22 members of the extended tribe present, there was no space for Uncle Andy.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_31″>Prior to the news about the duke not being invited to Kate’s carol service, there were rumblings that the Waleses did not particularly get along with Andrew for some time. </p>
<p id=”par-9_37″>William and Kate were never comfortable with Prince Andrew’s association with Epstein or what he was accused of by Virginia Giuffre or his disastrous <em>Newsnight </em>interview. But William has reportedly held a “grudge” against his disgraced uncle for another reason.</p>
<p id=”par-10_19″>Royal commentator Richard Kay claimed that William’s displeasure with Andrew goes back to when he first started dating Kate.</p>
<p id=”par-11_42″>“William has long held a grudge against Andrew for being unwelcoming when he first introduced the then-Kate Middleton to the royal family,” Kay said via the <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-13556033/Williams-year-hell-friends-say-tell-RICHARD-KAY-hes-supporting-Kate-King-cancer-say-hes-turned-page-Harry.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Mail</a> before adding that the Prince of Wales also “feels that his father has been too soft on him.”</p>
