Recently, Alsina made a few cryptic comments that might imply he’s paying a hefty price for his and Pinkett Smith’s affair even years later.</p>

Some of the Def Jam artist’s most recognizable hits might include tracks like the 2014 single “No Love” and the 2016 song “Do You Mind”. After his rise to stardom, Alsina met and networked with many artists in the music industry, including <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jada-pinkett-smith-admits-she-met-entanglement-august-alsina-because-of-kids-jaden-and-willow.html/”>Pinkett Smith’s son Jaden</a>. Alsina confided that it was Jaden who first introduced him to the <em>Gotham </em>star.</p>
<p id=”par-3_33″>A romance later bloomed between Alsina and Pinkett Smith that was more than just a fling. The young singer was adamant that his relationship with Pinkett Smith was unlike any he’d had before.</p>
<p id=”par-4_46″>“I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be OK with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody,” he said in a 2020 interview on <em><a href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q91Z1gW_iHw&t=1005s”>Angela Yee</a></em>.</p>

It pushed me into being another person, my newer self. It broke me down,” he said.<br><br>Years later, Alsina’s presence in the music industry noticeably shrunk. Recently, he took to social media to give fans a disappointing update <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/august-alsina-trending-twitter-the-singer-has-dealt-with-and-overcome-tragic-events.html/”>on his absence</a>. Alsina revealed that he’d be walking away from music for good, although he hinted he wasn’t doing so entirely by his own power.</p>

There were already rumors circulating that he and Pinkett Smith were more than just friends. He felt the more the gossip grew, the worse he looked. So, Alsina <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/august-alsina-revealed-the-real-reason-he-spoke-out-about-jada-pinkett-smith-affair-i-got-3-kids.html/”>finally addressed the rumors</a> head-on for the sake of his integrity and reputation.</p>

I could understand why it would look like I’m reckless or disrespectful so it really started to affect my livelihood, and I’m never okay with that. I got three kids to look after.
