<p id=”par-1_43″>Prince William and his younger brother, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/prince-harry/”>Prince Harry</a>, don’t have anywhere near <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/royal-insider-finally-admits-prince-harry-prince-william-dont-speak.html/”>the relationship they once did</a>. The two brothers are the sons of King Charles and the late Princess Diana, and they had been through so much together during their younger years.</p>
<p id=”par-2_39″>Sure, William and Harry had the typical brotherly arguments every now and then, but for the most part, the two were close from childhood into adulthood. One former described William and Harry as “a team” in their younger years.</p>

<p id=”par-3_70″>When Harry and William were growing up, they had their differences but ultimately were still close and loved each other. The brothers certainly had two different personalities, and William knew from a young age that his calling was more serious than his brother’s because Harry would never be king. Still, they bonded over being two <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-william-kate-middleton-decided-put-children-first-surprising-decision-monarchy.html/”>young kids in an unconventional spotlight</a> and going through major hardships during their formative years.</p>
<p id=”par-4_29″>During an episode of <em>60 Minutes Australia</em>, former royal butler Grant Harrold shared his thoughts on Harry and William’s feud. “They were a team,” he said, according to <a href=”https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/2018622/prince-harry-prince-william-relationship”>Express</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-5_45″>“The two of them were practical jokers … They used to wind each other up, and if you were involved in it, you’d get right into this winded up situation, this comedy, brotherly kind of fun,” Harrold said. “It was like that all the time.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_45″>Harrold continued, “That’s why it’s so sad, how that’s completely changed. It’s extraordinary how much it could change.” Harry and William did continue to speak even after Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal family in 2020, but they allegedly don’t have any contact now.</p>

<p id=”par-7_74″>William always knew his destiny was to follow in his father’s footsteps and become king. But for Harry, things were a bit more open-ended. While Harry was expected to spend his life as a working royal, he didn’t have the same set-in-stone future that his brother had. As a result, Harry started to want different things, and once he married Meghan, the two of them were able to paint their own version of life.</p>
<p id=”par-8_56″>This reportedly upset William, and Harry has said in past interviews that <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/prince-william-prince-harry-feud-thickens-claims-william-being-envious-brother-surface.html/”>he feels bad for his brother because</a> William is trapped. It seems that Harry thinks the royal family wasn’t kind to him and Meghan, while William thinks Harry turned his back on his family. For that reason, neither brother is willing to make amends.</p>
