<p id=”par-2_56″>Grant Harrold was <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/king-charles/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>King Charles</a>’ butler from 2004 to 2011. During his time working for the now-monarch and Camilla, his duties included valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver. In 2025, he published his first book, <em>The Royal Butler</em>, which became an Amazon bestseller. He regularly appears on TV offering royal commentary on both current and historic news stories.</p>

We’ve seen her come to the forefront and show what a remarkable individual she is. Behind closed doors, she’s very normal and a very down-to-earth person.” </p>
<p id=”par-4_56″>The former royal employee added, “[Camilla] wasn’t born into a royal household, but she has a lot of connections with the aristocracy growing up, and she was brought up in a privileged lifestyle. For her, it wasn’t that difficult transitioning when she married Charles and joined the Royal Family. She’s been a huge support for him.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_86″>Harrold also talked about where the family will celebrate her birthday and how the king will give her a simple but thoughtful present this year, saying, “The royals always celebrate Camilla’s birthday every year. It’s very traditionally held in the garden at Highgrove, depending on the weather. That’s always a regular thing that they do. When it comes to gifts, I think the king will look at giving something in his garden for her. She turns 79 this year, so it’s not a big milestone birthday.”</p>
