‘Fatal Family Feuds’: A Murder Victim’s Unusual Family Situation Comes Under Scrutiny [Exclusive Clip]

When a person is murdered, police often look first to the victim’s family for clues about why they were killed. But untangling a complicated web of relationships can be challenging. That was the situation that authorities faced when investigating the 2010 murder of Beverly Therrien, a case that’s featured in the Sunday, March 23 episode of Oxygen True Crime’s Fatal Family Feuds.

Therrien was one of the victims of a triple homicide in Hartford, Conn. Who would have wanted to kill the 74-year-old woman, or her two tenants, Pamela Johns, 60, and Michael Ramsey, 53? A look at Therrien’s family history might provide answers.

Therrien has a long and unconventional relationship with her ex-husband, Andrew Bednarz, a woman who knew Therrien explains in a clip from the upcoming episode.

“They had fights. Because he could be a major pain in the ass,” the woman says of the couple’s relationship when still married.

In 1983, Therrien decided she was done with the marriage, and she and her husband divorced. She went on to marry two more times, but both those marriages also ended in divorce.

But despite her multiple marriages, Bednarz wasn’t out of Therrien’s life entirely. After splitting from her third husband, she decided to move in with her first ex-husband and their son, Brett.

Therrien’s decision to move in with her ex wasn’t as strange as it might sound, given that she actually owned the property.

“The house that her ex-husband and her son Brett lived in was owned by Beverly,” another woman explains.

However, sharing a home with her ex didn’t mean they were back together, despite what Andy might have wanted. Therrien even installed a lock on the door to keep her former husband out of her part of the house.

“Andrew lived in the basement, but there was no real relationship between him and Beverly other than almost a tenant relationship,” a man explains.

“She paid for that house, and she still considered it her property,” the first woman says with a laugh.

While Therrien and her ex appeared to have come to an agreement about their living situation, their unusual arrangement was tested in the year leading up to her death, the clip teases. Could Therrien’s decision to move in with her ex-husband and son have been a factor in her eventual murder?
