Dr. Dre Said Eminem Has Lots of Critiques When They Work With Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent 

<p id=”par-1_65″>Dr. Dre recently worked with <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/snoop-dogg/?swcfpc=1″>Snoop Dogg</a>, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/50-cent/?swcfpc=1″>50 Cent</a>, and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/eminem/?swcfpc=1″>Eminem</a> on Snoop’s twentieth studio album, <em>Missionary</em>. Dr. Dre said the four of them worked seamlessly together in the studio. Though Snoop and Eminem briefly feuded in 2020, they said the latter brought his all to the song. Dr. Dre said Eminem was willing to critique what they were working on to make it better.</p>

<p id=”par-2_27″>Decades after working with Snoop on <em>Doggystyle, </em><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/snoop-dogg-said-dr-dres-nasty-pulled-grown.html/”>Dr. Dre produced <em>Missionary</em></a>. On the album, he worked with Snoop, Eminem, and 50 Cent on the song “Gun Smoke.”</p>

<p id=”par-3_55″>“The critiques come from Eminem,” Dr. Dre told <a href=”https://www.complex.com/music/a/jillian-hardeman-webb/still-dr-dre-snoop-dogg-complex-cover” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Complex</a>. “It’s like a friendly competition among us. And it’s healthy. You’ll hear it. Like the way 50 showed up on the first verse. Then Snoop comes in and then Eminem shows up and you know what the f*** it is with him and that ink pen.”</p>

<p id=”par-4_10″>Snoop spoke about what Eminem <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/snoop-dogg-admitted-challenging-work-eminem.html/”>was like in the studio</a>.</p>

<p id=”par-5_33″>“He going 75 bars of madness,” Snoop added. “F*** all of y’all. And after he listened to it back, he may be like, ‘Give it to me again. I need eight more bars.’”</p>

<p id=”par-6_24″>Dr. Dre said Eminem also paid close attention to the technical parts of the song. He had strong opinions about how the song sounded.</p>

<p id=”par-7_28″>“No, he f***ed around and Eminem learned the technical parts of the studio,” Dr. Dre said. “And now, he’s like can you turn my vocal up two db?”</p>

<p id=”par-8_25″>Dr. Dre began working with Eminem in the <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/dr-dre-called-eminems-early-rap-skills-awkward-s.html/”>early days of his career</a>. He recalled Eminem impressing him within minutes of their first studio session.</p>

<p id=”par-9_109″>“I had a studio in my house at the time, and I went and I put some samples together and did a couple of things in the drum machine and I did a lot of recording,” Dr. Dre said in the docu-series <em>The Defiant Ones</em>, adding, “I was like ‘Man, listen. I put this sample together. Tell me if you like it.’ And I hit the drum machine, and maybe two or three seconds went by and he just went, ‘Hi! My name is… my name is…’ Like, ‘Yo! Stop.’ S***’s hot. That’s what happened our first day in the first few minutes of us being in the studio.”</p>

<p id=”par-10_15″>Snoop said he loved working with Dr. Dre and the other rappers on “Gun Smoke.”</p>

<p id=”par-11_75″>“That’s Dr. Dre’s all-star team,” he said. “All three of us love Dr. Dre’s production and we all felt like we needed a record where we all got something together. We loving each other, we appreciating each other, and it just made sense. Dr. Dre’s at the top of his game right now and these are three of his all-stars, and it only made sense for me to come together on this record ‘Gun Smoke.’”</p>
