<p id=”par-1_57″>Before <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/blake-shelton/?swcfpc=1″>Blake Shelton’s</a> marriages to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/miranda-lambert/?swcfpc=1″>Miranda Lambert</a> and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/gwen-stefani/?swcfpc=1″>Gwen Stefani</a>, he was married to a woman from his hometown. They met as teenagers and were together through the earliest days of his career. While they were married, Shelton said they were a perfect match. After their divorce, however, Shelton no longer thought they’d been a good fit.</p>

<p id=”par-2_23″>Shelton married his first wife, Kaynette Williams, in 2003. They met as teenagers in Ada, Oklahoma, his hometown, and wed in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. </p>
<p id=”par-3_54″>“I knew Kaynette was the one,” he said shortly after their wedding (per <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/inside-blake-shelton-marriages-exes-150002879.html” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Yahoo!</a>). “Just because, I can’t explain it, I can’t say it’s because we get along or because of the way she looks. It’s just something I feel – you know what I mean? It’s nothing more than just knowing you’re right.”</p>

<p id=”par-4_19″>The couple divorced in 2006. Upon reflection, Shelton said he didn’t think the marriage <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/blake-shelton-admits-former-relationships-seemed-like-work-paper.html/”>had been a good fit</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-5_18″>“Looking back, it was just the wrong thing all around,” he told <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.mensjournal.com/travel/blake-shelton-natural-born-hell-raiser-20130711″ rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Men’s Journal</a>. “I married my buddy.”</p>

<p id=”par-6_38″>In 2005, while he was still married to his first wife, Shelton <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/blake-shelton-panicked-realized-feelings-miranda-lambert-happening.html/”>performed a duet</a> with country singer Miranda Lambert at CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets event. Shelton said he felt a powerful pull towards Lambert during their performance.</p>
<p id=”par-7_47″>“I’ve never had that kind of experience with anybody,” he said. “I was a married guy, you know? Standing up there and singing with somebody and going, ‘Man, this shouldn’t be happening.’ Looking back on that, I was falling in love with her, right there on stage.”</p>
<p id=”par-8_23″>Shelton and Williams ended their marriage the following year, and he began a relationship with Lambert. This didn’t make life easy for Williams.</p>
<p id=”par-9_42″>“After Blake and I split up, I moved from Tennessee back to Oklahoma,” she said in 2011. “But then Blake and Miranda moved back there to a neighboring town, and it just felt like Oklahoma wasn’t big enough for all of us.” </p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-he-is-now-with-gwen-stefani”>He is now with Gwen Stefani</h2>
<p id=”par-10_34″>Shelton and Lambert divorced in 2015. Shortly after they ended their relationship, Shelton jumped into a new romance with <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/gwen-stefani-said-blake-sheltons-divorce-announcement-felt-gift.html/”>fellow <em>Voice</em> coach Gwen Stefani</a>. At the time, she was also going through a divorce. </p>
<p id=”par-11_34″>After nearly six years together, Stefani and Shelton tied the knot on their Oklahoma ranch in 2021. Shelton built a backyard chapel for the occasion, and a handful of their family and friends attended.</p>

In the end, they just wanted to have this moment with their loved ones.”</p>
<p id=”par-13_12″>They wanted the day to focus on their family and their faith.</p>
<p id=”par-14_46″>“Their shared faith is very important,” the source said. “Having the wedding at home was a way for their families — and Gwen — to be as comfortable as possible. Blake wanted the day to be perfect for Gwen. His love for her is so deep.”</p>
