While it was a very tumultuous night for the family, a source said Beyoncé seemed very happy before the infamous fight.</p>

At one point, she dropped a piece of jewelry and he offered it back to her in a mock-proposal pose.</p>

They added that the couple “went inside, arm-in-arm.” </p>

An insider noticed that the family “did abruptly leave.” While in a hotel elevator, Solange began to punch and kick Jay-Z while Beyoncé watched. A source explained that he said something inappropriate to the sisters, sparking Solange’s reaction. </p>

<p id=”par-5_44″>“Toward the end of the night, Jay said something inappropriate to Beyoncé and Solange, and [Solange] snapped,” an insider told <a target=”_blank” href=”https://people.com/music/jay-z-solange-elevator-fight-everything-theyve-said/” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>. “When they got in the elevator, it escalated quickly the way family tensions can. It got exceptionally heated the way family moments can.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_9″>They shared why Beyoncé did not try to intervene. </p>
<p id=”par-7_26″>“Beyoncé tried to stay out of it,” a source said. “She does not approve of violence. They are trying to put the situation past them now.”</p>

<p id=”par-10_97″>“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,” they said in a statement to the <a href=”https://apnews.com/general-news-music-c1731cc41d49462988453038f174246d” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Associated Press</a>. “Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other, and we have moved forward as a united family.”</p>
<p id=”par-11_21″>The trio said that they, like any other family, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sean-diddy-combs-not-surprised-jay-z-addressed-cheating-beyonce.html/”>had their problems</a>. They claimed to have moved past the issue, though.</p>

At the end of the day, families have problems, and we’re no different. We love each other, and above all, we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”</p>
