Now, insiders suggest Affleck and Lopez want to return to the dating scene. In October 2024, Affleck stepped out with a freshly dyed beard. <p id=”par-2_58″>Ben Affleck debuted a new look as he and Jennifer Lopez went through their divorce. The actor stepped out in Santa Monica, California, in a light blue button-up shirt and black slacks. Photos from <a href=”https://pagesix.com/2024/10/04/style/ben-affleck-debuts-freshly-dyed-beard-amid-jennifer-lopez-divorce/?preview_id=7981247&preview=true” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Page Six</a> show he appeared to dye his beard and mustache a darker shade of brown, giving his facial hair a fuller look. </p>
<p id=”par-3_44″>Affleck fans have seen a similar look from him before. In July 2020, he dyed his hair and facial hair the same color. Unfortunately, celebrity hair colorist Michael Canalé wrote to <a href=”https://pagesix.com/2020/07/03/ben-affleck-appears-to-have-dyed-his-hair-and-beard/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Page Six Style</a> at the time that the darker hair “aged” Affleck. </p>
<p id=”par-4_31″>“It ages him a little bit; it’s a little too dark along with the beard, and it looks unnatural,” Canalé wrote. “A professional colorist wouldn’t have made it so matte.” </p>
<p id=”par-5_67″>The celebrity stylist noted that Affleck could’ve “eased out 20-50% of the gray” in his hair to make him look 10 years younger. But the dark hair didn’t quite work. “Under certain lighting, especially in film, the semi-permanent won’t alternate the natural base color,” Canalé continued. “He would have been better off using a semi-permanent to avoid flashing warm tones or what they call ‘golfer’s red.’” </p>

He wore his hair in a fauxhawk and donned a leather motorcycle jacket over a Red Hot Chili Peppers T-shirt. A source told <a href=”https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/ben-afflecks-new-look-a-cry-for-help-to-jennifer-lopez/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>In Touch Weekly</a> that <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-thinks-ben-affleck-looks-lost-pathetic-new-look-source-says.html/”>Lopez viewed the look as “so lost and kind of pathetic.”</a></p>
<p id=”par-7_59″> “She’s saying this clearly shows that Ben is clearly not in the right headspace and that he hasn’t been for some time,” the insider noted. “In her view, he looks so lost and kind of pathetic right now.
