Lopez served Ben divorce papers in August 2024 after two years of marriage. The couple appears on good terms post-split. And it seems permanently separating “has done wonders” for their friendship, according to a source. Here’s what an insider said about where Ben and Lopez stand now. </p>

Ben and Lopez rekindled their flame in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022. Unfortunately, they couldn’t make their marriage work and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/jennifer-lopez-ben-affleck-split-whole-world-exploded.html/”>parted ways in 2024</a>. They finalized their divorce in January 2025. </p>
<p id=”par-3_22″>A source told <a href=”https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/ben-affleck-and-j-lo-would-love-to-stay-in-each-others-lives-excl/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>In Touch Weekly</a> that getting their divorce “all squared away has done wonders for the state of their relationship.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_64″>“They’re both saying they are impressed in the end by how sensible and fair it all came out, and that’s left them both feeling about as happy as you could get after a divorce,” the insider continued, adding that Ben and Lopez got through the finalization “without hating each other.” Ultimately, “they would like to preserve their friendship” and “stay in each other’s lives.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_43″>The source noted that it’s important for Ben and Lopez to stay friends for the good of their children. Ben and Jennifer Garner’s three kids, Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 12, became friends with Lopez’s twins, Max and Emme Muñiz, 16. </p>
