When <em><a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/sister-wives/”>Sister Wives</a></em> premiered, the family attempted to present themselves as a typical family, filled with love and partnership. Their religious beliefs were also on full display. Early on, the polygamist group insisted they didn’t believe in premarital sex, so much so that<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/sister-wives/”> a premarital kiss </a>was considered scandalous. 19 Seasons and three divorces later, it’s hard to tell what was true and what was manufactured for cameras. In fact, some fans are confident that Robyn and Kody Brown engaged in premarital sex. We think there are hints hidden in the show. We’ve collected three.</p>

Still, Robyn Brown’s views on divorce in polygamy would all but require having a sexual relationship with Kody in order to tie the knot. Robyn shared her thoughts on<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/the-sister-wives-cast-doesnt-agree-when-it-comes-to-casual-sex.html/”> intimacy and divorce </a>after Christine Brown opted to leave Kody.</p>

<p id=”par-3_80″>Robyn theorized that Christine and Kody were not divorced until Christine had sex with another man. She said <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sister-wives-according-to-religious-dogma-christine-brown-is-stil-very-much-married-to-kody-brown-no-divorce-until-she-has-a-new-man.html/”>“religious dogma”</a> requires a woman to have an intimate relationship with another man before she is considered divorced. Because women are not allowed to marry more than one man, and Robyn claims to adhere to the religious principle, she would have had to have sex with Kody to consider herself divorced and safe to marry another man before they tied the knot.</p>

<p id=”par-4_61″>Sex before marriage is verboten in the Apostolic United Brethren, the polygamist group to which the Brwon family once belonged. It is also against the rules of the LDS Church, which Kody belonged to before embracing polygamy. During a January 2025 episode of <em>Sister Wives</em>, Kody revealed that he didn’t abide by the rules around physical intimacy as a young man.</p>

<p id=”par-5_74″>Kody claimed to have lost his virginity as a college student during a little “tryst.” While the admission was shocking, his ability to keep that fact a secret from two of his four wives for the entirety of their marriages was a bigger surprise. Kody revealed that neither Janelle Brown nor Christine Brown were aware of his premarital hijinx. He claims he was <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/sister-wives-star-christine-brown-finally-fesses-up-about-what-her-sex-life-with-kody-brown-looked-like-pre-split.html/”>never “intimate enough”</a> with either of them to share the information.</p>
<p id=”par-6_38″>The fact that Kody lied about his sexual history suggests he could have easily continued lying about it. His insistence that he and Robyn did not have sex before marriage means pretty much nothing based on the revelation.</p>
