President Trump’s Chief of Staff Susie Wiles celebrated her 18-month anniversary in her position at the White House by sharing a photo of House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-GA) and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) taken in the Oval Office.

And, I am now apparently the longest serving Chief of Staff to President Trump. Such an honor.”

[NOTE: Trump had four Chiefs of Staff during his first administration. He launched his term with former RNC chair Reince Priebus as Chief of Staff. After 18 months, Priebus was replaced by retired Marine General and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, who served 15 months and was replaced by U.S. Rep. Mike Mulvaney, who served 14 months and was replaced by U.S. Rep. Mark Meadows, who served 10 months, most notably during the attack of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.]
Trump supporters are showering Wiles with compliments including longtime Trump political consultant and lobbyist Roger Stone, who wrote: “You are indispensable to the president and your loyalty is beyond reproach. God bless you.”
Bob Unanue, former CEO of Goya Foods (who denied the results of the 2020 presidential election), replied: “Your contribution to our Country is far beyond length of stay. You masterfully handled President Trump’s comeback campaign & hand selected the most incredible & historic cabinet!”
Trump critics are slamming Wiles for the milestone, including one who replied: “Let’s see — in his first term, Trump’s chiefs of staff were Priebus, Kelly, Mulvaney and Meadows. Trump dumped the first three. The fourth helped him plan a way to overthrow the 2020 election. With the exception of Kelly, you’re not among august company.”
Some MAGA supporters are responding with disappointment.
As one replied to Wiles: “A room full of neocons. Tell your boss to get us the hell out of Iran before the Democrats crush you in the midterms.”
Another replied: “Of course you are. No push back just a revolving door. That describes Trump’s entire staff, House and Senate leaders.”
Another wrote: “Your staff recommendations and congressional endorsements have been poor.”
[NOTE: The former House Speaker appeared on Fox News this week and was asked if the GOP can hold on to the House and Senate this midterm election season. Gingrich said yes there’s a chance and replied, “If we were betting tonight, they’ll keep both.” Gingrich echoed President Trump by calling Democrats “crazy” and “communists,” and criticized Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for being “totally exhausted.”]
At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Friday, when asked by Nicholas Ballasy about the six-week absence of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and the idea of congressional term limits, Gingrich refused to comment.
