Massie Bites Back at Trump After “Moron” Comment, “I’m Still Fighting”

Rep. Thomas Massie

At the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, President Donald Trump used some of his time at the podium to complain about U.S. Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) who has a history of occasionally voting against Trump’s policies and bills. Massie, notably, also led the drive in Congress to compel the Department of Justice to release the Epstein files in their entirety.

When the President of the United States called the Kentucky congressman “a moron” during his remarks, the crowd of Christians gathered for prayer laughed.

Massie responded to the criticism on social media and wrote: “The President of the United States called me a moron at the National Prayer Breakfast this morning because I’m still fighting for what he promised the American people: Reduce big spending, DOGE, no new wars, end foreign aid, defend 1A 2A 4A, prolife, and expose sex traffickers.”

MAGA influencer John Quigg II replied to Massie, writing, “Trump doesn’t want to expose sex offenders because it gives him leverage over certain people. It’s the same reason why every president doesn’t want to turn over the information. Then they have less to leverage with.”

Note: Trump also criticized GOP Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) for not always voting in Trump’s favor and suggested that Roy initially objects because he wants the president’s attention and an invitation to the White House. (Roy is leaving the House to run for for Texas Attorney General, hoping to take the position of Ken Paxton who is stepping down to challenge Sen. John Cornyn in the Republican senate primary. Trump has yet to announce his endorsement in the Senate race.)
