MAGA social influencers Laura Loomer and Tim Pool, who have both vehemently opposed U.S. military and financial support of Ukraine since the Russian invasion in 2022, have reversed their positions on the Russia-Ukraine war this month and are now expressing support for Ukraine.
[NOTE: Both Loomer and Pool repeatedly criticized President Joe Biden’s support of Ukraine during his administration.]
As seen below, Loomer recently traveled to Ukraine and interviewed President Zelenskyy at his residence, Mariinsky Palace. Loomer reported: “No questions were off limits and I didn’t pull any punches.”
Loomer promised the entire interview will be published with the help of AP Ukraine.
I just interviewed President Zelenskyy @ZelenskyyUa at Mariinsky Palace in Ukraine.
No questions were off limits and I didn’t pull any punches.
Full interview coming soon!

Ostap Yarysh, a former Pentagon reporter for VOA News, responded to the drastic turnaround by writing: “Two years ago Tim Pool said literally this: ‘Ukraine is one of the greatest enemies of our nation … We should pull out all military support, and we should apologize to Russia.’ Then it was revealed that a company associated with him had been paid by Moscow. What is happening?”

[NOTE: Pool said he was unwittingly paid by a covert Russian state media operation, receiving large sums through Tenet Media, a Tennessee-based company, to publish pro-Russian content.]
On Thursday, Pool wrote on social media: “Ukraine has been fighting for their very existence against an evil dictator. I see now the importance of the Ukrainian victory against Russia. I hope Trump and the people of the United States will lend their support.”

While some Trump critics, including journalist John A. Daly, are calling out the MAGA duo’s “sudden realization” as “pretty ridiculous,” they also say they favor it over their previous messaging.
Former MSNBC journalist Mehdi Hasan replied to Loomer’s Zelenskyy interview: “This unhinged bigot and conspiracy theorist was once banned from Uber for being so extreme. She is now granted interviews with heads of state. We live in the worst timeline.”
This ‘sudden realization’ by some on the Right that Ukraine is actually the good guy in the Russia/Ukraine War (when it was obvious all along) is pretty ridiculous to me, but I much prefer it over their previous spreading of Russian propaganda. pic.twitter.com/RE1J2VSJVw

When Dash Dobrofsky, author of The Gen Z Perspective, replied to Hasan: “I actually think this interview is good for Ukraine and Zelenskyy. Lara Loomer admitted she was brainwashed by Russian propaganda and is now debunking Kremlin lies that have been spread to her MAGA base,” Hasan wouldn’t have it, and replied: “She is a grifter and a bigot.”
Yes she is.
But if she uses her platform to let President Zelenskyy speak truth to the MAGA base about Putin and Russia’s war crimes, that’s a positive for Ukraine. For too long they’ve been fed Kremlin propaganda.
I think Zelenskyy is smart for allowing this interview.

When American political scientist Ian Bremmer jumped in the chat and asked, “why are so many people suddenly flipping their long held russia-ukraine views. it’s not like the facts of the conflict have changed,” more than one commenter suggested it was a financial decision.
As “Blue Patriot” replied, “You should know that these ‘influencers’ have stopped being paid by Russia. That’s why their views changed.”
