U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), who is in a heated runoff election against Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton — neither of whom won the endorsement of President Trump — was scolded after he proudly announced on social media that his “End Special Treatment for Congress at Airports Act” passed the Senate unanimously and is now headed to the House of Representatives.

Note: During the current funding freeze for parts of the Department of Homeland Security, which affects salaries of TSA agents at airports and has caused massive delays at airports, there have been complaints of Congress members receiving special treatment (cutting long lines for TSA screening processes) at the airports. MAGA-aligned U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) responded to Cornyn and his announcement: “This is a show vote because you guys can’t get your [expletive] together. You guys are the ones holding up all funding and won’t act on voter ID and you think your messaging Bill works?”
Demonstrating how Paxton, who has some political baggage, remains competitive with the Republican incumbent, MAGA influencer “Gunther Eagleman” replied to Luna: “John Cornyn is the RINO trash in the Senate.”
Note: The Republican runoff election will be held May 26. Recent polling shows mixed results; one survey indicates Paxton leading with 49% to Cornyn’s 41%, while another showed Cornyn slightly ahead in the initial primary. The winner will face Democrat state Rep. James Talarico.
