Kaitlan Collins Reports on Trump’s 2 Dental Visits This Month, “Such Lack of Candor”

Kaitlan Collins

CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins shined a light on President Trump’s dental visits this month. On Monday, Collins wrote on social media: “The White House says President Trump will undergo his ‘annual dental and medical evaluations’ on May 26.”

She added: “On May 2, while in Florida, White House officials told the press traveling with him that Trump went to the dentist then for ‘a scheduled dental appointment at his local dentist in Florida.’”

[NOTE: In an official statement, the White House announced that Trump, 79, will go to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday, May 26, for his annual medical and dental evaluations. Trump’s last annual exam was conducted on April 11, 2025.]

Several X users, who envision potential Trump health issues being obscured, voiced frustration with Collins and the press corps at large for not asking about the visits. As one replied: “Just tweet it. Don’t call them out on it. It’s not like you’re the White House correspondent with direct access.”

Other commenters, less inclined to be suspicious about two dental appointments in quick succession, questioned the importance of detailing Trump’s medical visits, which they see as implying problems where there are none.

[NOTE: Trump, a month from his 80th birthday, is the second oldest man ever to serve as POTUS. His predecessor, Joe Biden, was the oldest, leaving office at 82. Biden’s health and mental acuity were constantly questioned by Trump and others.]

Focused on Trump’s Florida dental visit, others noted that there is a dental office in the White House, implying that the Florida dental visit — less convenient — may have been unplanned. CNN’s chief medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a former cardiologist for the late Vice President Dick Cheney, summed up the situation, writing on X: “There’s been such lack of candor about the health of the president that even a visit to the dentist raises questions.” Reiner added, “Maybe he just likes this dentist.”

[Note: Reiner also amplified the video below of Trump in the Oval Office on Monday, when the president appears to close his eyes for about 20 seconds. Critics say he fell asleep, while the White House maintained he was blinking. Reiner added: “The president is overdue for his annual physical exam.”]
