Is it time for the New York Yankees to move on from manager Aaron Boone?
There seems to be a lot of division among the Yankees faithful about their skipper and his ability to lead the organization to another World Series title.
Currently, as of Sunday, August 16, the Yankees are 68-55 and hold the top AL Wild Card spot over the Boston Red Sox by two games.
Look, in all likelihood, the Yankees will advance to the MLB playoffs, and considering New York has been without three of their premier sluggers (Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Cody Bellinger).
Despite those players being injured, the Yankees are 13 games above .500, but the conundrum is that the team has struggled at times on offense (as any lineup would) without those players, which puts Boone’s status in jeopardy.

There’s no way that Aaron Boone will be getting fired before the playoffs, but if the Yankees dud out in the AL Wild Card round, the noise surrounding his future will be very loud.
Per X.com, here is the basis for the Boone firing argument:
“Boone has led the team since 2018, delivering strong regular seasons and a 2024 World Series run, but no championship has fueled calls for his dismissal from frustrated supporters who point to a lackluster offense and recent losses. Critics blast the team as lazy and passionless, urging Boone and GM Brian Cashman to go, while defenders blame injuries to stars like Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Cody Bellinger on Cashman’s roster choices.”

I tend to neglect sharing my opinion in stories like this, but the Yankees truly are in a good spot right now and are in line to host an AL Wild Card series, which is three games at home. Again, they have been without Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger for months.
However, with that said, as noted, if the Yankees can’t advance to the ALCS AT LEAST, the noise surrounding Boone’s future will get very loud, especially with such a talented and experienced roster.
