The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Baltimore Orioles 4-1 on Thursday.
After Thursday’s victory, the Angels announced that they had released the Atlanta Braves‘ 2021 World Series MVP.

MLB.com wrote: “Los Angeles Angels released DH Jorge Soler.”
The Braves designated Soler for assignment on Tuesday. He cleared waivers before being released.
This season, Soler has slashed just .203/.291/.373 with 12 home runs and 49 RBI over 361 plate appearances with the Angels.

Soler, who hails from Havana, Cuba, made his MLB debut with the Chicago Cubs in 2014.
The Cubs traded Soler to the Kansas City Royals for closer Wade Davis after the 2016 season. Soler hit .258/.328/.434 with 27 home runs and 98 RBI over 211 games with Chicago.

Soler played with the Royals until being traded to the Atlanta Braves at the 2021 trade deadline.
During his five seasons with Kansas City, Soler slashed .236/.328/.471 with 80 home runs and 212 RBI.

Soler immediately became a Braves legend. He finished the 2021 regular season hitting .269/.358/.524 with 14 home runs and 33 RBI in 55 games.
The outfielder/DH slashed .242/.342/.606 with three home runs, three doubles and six RBI during the 2021 postseason and was named the World Series MVP as the Braves defeated the Houston Astros in six games.
