Recently, Mitch Garver was released by the Seattle Mariners.

The 35-year-old had been batting .175 with 22 hits, four home runs, 15 RBIs, 17 runs and one stolen base in 50 games.

He had been in the middle of his third season with Seattle.

The Yankees had been a team that was expected to land a catcher at the trade deadline.

That said, they were unable to complete a move for one.

Recently, Badaboom (the producer on the Sal Licata Show) mentioned that the Yankees should consider signing Garver.

Badaboom: “Did you see that Mitch Garver got released? Why don’t the Yankees go pick up Mitch Garver. I’d rater have him than Ali Sanchez.”
