The Indiana Fever had quite the day on Wednesday with players and coaches getting multiple awards for a great month of July.
Fever star Caitlin Clark won the WNBA‘s Eastern Conference Player of the Week award. Fellow teammate Kelsey Mitchell took home the Eastern Conference Player of the Month award.
Even Fever head coach Stephanie White got in on the action by winning the Eastern Conference Head Coach of the Month. It was how White’s players, particularly Clark, reacted to the news that had everyone talking.

During the Fever’s practice, it was announced that Clark, Mitchell, and White had won their awards. Indiana posted on X reactions from each of them when they found out about their achievements.
For White, Clark’s reaction stood out in the 10-second clip. Clark was excited and did a couple of high karate-like kicks in the air for her coach.
July was a strong month for the Fever, going 9-2 in that span. They were able to slowly climb up the WNBA standings, sitting at the fifth spot. Indiana is currently tied with the Atlanta Dream at 19-11.
Clark played well last week for the Fever, averaging 25.7 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds per game. Mitchell’s month was even better, averaging 27.2 points and 2.8 assists per game in July.

The Fever have won seven of their last 10 games, playing well over the last month plus. They are coming off a tough loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday.
Indiana’s next five games are going to be critical for the team if the Fever want to make a run for the top spot in the standings. Four of the next five opponents are in playoff contention. The Fever have a 6-8 record when playing teams with a winning record this season.
Their next opponent is the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday. Indiana has beaten the Aces twice this season, with both games being double-digit wins.
This is the Fever’s opportunity to really flex their muscles and show how good they are. They have been average this season against the best of the best, so they need momentum going into the playoffs.
Clark and Mitchell will play key roles in making sure they beat Las Vegas. They have been dominating with the ball, putting up multiple games with 20 or more points each. Give them a chance to shine on the brightest stage against a WNBA powerhouse, and the narrative might change with how they are against good teams.
