St. Louis Cardinals Announce Jordan Walker Change Before Yankees Series

The St. Louis Cardinals are set to open up a new MLB series against the New York Yankees this week (on the road).

In their previous series, the Cardinals lost two of three to the Toronto Blue Jays. St. Louis is 55-57 this season and has been slipping in the MLB standings since the All-Star break.

Ahead of their series with the New York Yankees, the Cards announced their lineup, which features a slight Jordan Walker tweak.

Update: the Cardinals are trading away Dustin May and JoJo Romero to the Milwaukee Brewers. Wow, what a shocking in-division trade.

Regardless if the Cardinals make the MLB playoffs or not this season, they have a star on the rise in Jordan Walker, or actually, never mind that, they have a STAR right now.

After being named to the All-Star team for the first time last month, Jordan Walker went out and won the Home Run Derby as well.

He’s batting .283 this season with 22 HR, 81 RBI, and 121 total hits.

His OPS+ sits at 134. Through the first three seasons of his career, Walker had a bWAR of -2.6.

This season? His bWAR is 3.2 and counting.

The Cardinals might want to lock him up ASAP, as Jordan Walks seems to have figured it out at the plate.
