The team at Los Angeles’ Griffith Observatory offered an after-dark astronomy experience during “Night Gallery: The Stars of Summer,” on Friday, July 27.
The event offered a guided tour of the night sky without “the persistent glow of screens and daily distractions,” according to the observatory’s web site.
Griffith Observatory Director Dr. E.C. Krupp hosted the event, at the complex’s Samuel Oschin Planetarium. Attendees enjoyed a deep look of the summer’s constellations and got exclusive after-hours access to exhibits, telescopes and panoramic views of the City of the Angels.
Another edition of the nighttime activity is scheduled for Aug. 17 at 6 p.m.
