Three people were killed in overnight violence across the South Side.
A 24-year-old woman in Roseland, a 61-year-old man in Englewood and a male victim in South Chicago were killed in under three hours early Sunday, according to Chicago police. Six people were also shot in Humboldt Park, and two victims are in critical condition.
No one has been arrested for any of the violence, according to police.
The woman in Roseland was outside with a large group just before 1 a.m. Sunday in the 10400 block of South Michigan Avenue when someone fired shots into the crowd, police said. The woman and a 20-year-old woman were both struck. The 20-year-old was taken in good condition to Roseland Hospital. The other woman was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.
About 15 minutes later, the 61-year-old man was found with a fatal gunshot wound to his back at around 1:05 a.m. in the 5600 block of South Racine Avenue. Police did not share any additional details.
Just after 3 a.m., the male victim and a 32-year-old woman were outside in the 8900 block of South Escanaba Avenue when they heard and felt gunshots, police said. The woman took herself to Trinity Hospital in good condition. The male victim, whose age has not been reported, was shot in the neck and taken to University of Chicago where he was later pronounced dead.
In Humboldt Park, a gunman fired shots into a group of people around 2 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of North Central Park Avenue, police said. Six people were injured. Two men are in critical condition after both suffered several gunshot wounds: a 35-year-old man taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and a 36-year-old man taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
The four other victims are in good condition at several hospitals: a 33-year-old man at Humboldt Park Health, a 34-year-old woman at Mount Sinai, a 39-year-old man at Stroger Hospital and a 46-year-old woman also at Stroger.
