Roseanne Barr Hurls Slur at James Talarico, “They May Be Stupid, But…”

Texas State Rep. James Talarico, the Democratic candidate running for incumbent Senator John Cornyn‘s seat in Washington, responded to Cornyn losing the GOP primary runoff on Tuesday to Attorney General Ken Paxton. Talarico wrote: “I want to thank Senator John Cornyn for his years representing our state. We don’t agree on everything, but we both still believe in public service. To Senator Cornyn’s supporters: you have a place in our campaign.”

[NOTE: Cornyn has yet to announce an endorsement, after saying during the heated primary that voters “can’t trust” Paxton.]

Trump/MAGA supporters have been responding to Talarico’s post with profanity and slurs, including comedian Roseanne Barr, who replied to Talarico by writing that Cornyn voters “may be stupid but they aren’t r—–ed.”

Jenna Ellis, a member of Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign legal team who later had her law license suspended, also replied to Talarico, writing: “This will earn you like 1 vote, probably Cornyn’s” with a laughing/crying emoji.

Democratic supporters are applauding Talarico’s approach to Republicans who voted for Cornyn, including April Ajoy, author of Star-Spangled Jesus: Leaving Christian Nationalism and Finding A True Faith, who replied, “This is brilliant.”

[NOTE: After conceding the election to Paxton, Cornyn posted a biblical quote on social media: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7.” Many MAGA influencers, including Nick Sortor and “DC Draino”, responded by arguing that Cornyn didn’t fight “the good fight,” and that if he had, he would have pushed harder for President Trump’s policies, including the SAVE Act.]
