Earlier this week, the surprising news came out that the Dallas Mavericks had parted ways with head coach Jason Kidd.

Kidd had been at the helm for five seasons, helping lead them to the 2024 NBA Finals (and 2022 Western Conference finals).

Mavs PR wrote (on May 19): “The Dallas Mavericks announced today that the team has mutually agreed to part ways with head coach Jason Kidd. The organization will immediately begin a comprehensive search for its next head coach.”

On Friday, Kidd made a post to Instagram for his daughter (just days after departing from the Mavs).

He wrote: “Another one on to high school! Congratulations to the 8th grade graduate @noahgracekidd! We love you!”

Before his days as a coach with the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks (and Mavs), Kidd was among the best point guards in NBA history.

He played 19 seasons for the Mavs, Nets, Suns and Knicks.

The 10-time NBA All-Star had career averages of 12.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 1.9 steals per contest while shooting 40.0% from the field and 34.9% from three-point range in 1,391 games.
