Jeanine Pirro Finds 2,000 Laptops in Federal Basement, “Give Them Away, Do Something”

US Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro

U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, the former Fox News star appointed by President Trump, created a one-minute video to show her followers on X that she’s discovered a storage space in the basement of her building filled with boxes of unused desk lamps and laptops.

As seen below, she says: “Here I am in front of an unnamed room. There’s nothing on the door.”

Pirro opens the door, walks in and says, “As you can see this isn’t a room, it is a massive, massive basement storage facility.”

She walks over to a pile of boxes, opens one with a knife to reveal unused lamps. She refers to the lamps, which were presumably purchased by the government for office use as “public items” and complains, “You don’t throw them away and put them in the basement, you sell them.”

[Note: Some commenters noted that if the items were “thrown away,” they wouldn’t be in the storage facility.]

She then points out stacks of laptop computers (“there must be 1,000 of them” she says) and tells her audience, “Don’t let them sit here and rot, sell them.”

Pirro says “there’s a whole process to do this,” but doesn’t say whether she has started that process. “Give them away, do something.” By the end of the video, standing in the same spot, she has changed her estimate to 2,000 computers.

Pirro claimed, “I’m gonna make sure some of that money is returned to the taxpayers.” She smiles, ending her video by saying: “All of that, all is well in the kingdom.”

Pirro is getting mixed reviews on her effort. One critic replied: “Billions of dollars disappear from the national budget and they sleep on it, but the moment they find a couple of old boxes in a closet, they grab a camera to play the taxpayer’s savior. Elite-level acting.”

X user “Ultra Maga Dude” replied: “This happens at every military base in the world. Most are good at selling them off like you suggest however, some are not. The leading cause of the over stock is the fact that all agencies get a set amount to spend each fiscal year on 1 Sep. Everyone knows that if you don’t spend it all up you will receive less the next year because the commands take you not spending it to mean you don’t need as much and they redirect those monies to their pet projects and buddies. The agencies end up with a much smaller amount the next FY. Nobody wants to tell their Sq Commander that they will receive less so they spend it all up on stupid stuff like, lamps. It’s a double edge sword that results in waste and abuse.”

Another noted: “Could they be the laptops of a lot of Federal Employees that had been let go? They need to be wiped/secured and disposed of. You can see they are all tagged. It’s funny, did she reach out to Deskside Support or whoever runs IT and ask them about those machines?”
