Rams Set to Make History With 2026 NFL Schedule: Reports

Quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams will make history with the 2026 NFL schedule. That will occur in multiple ways this fall.

First, the team will be part of a rare Wednesday matchup in the league. The Rams will host the Green Bay Packers for the NFL’s first Thanksgiving Eve game.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo first reported the date for that matchup on Wednesday. The NFL then confirmed the Packers-Rams showdown for Thanksgiving Eve in the league-wide schedule release Thursday night.

That tilt will be one of seven primetime games the NFL scheduled the Rams to play during the 2026 campaign. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio wrote Thursday night that will tie an NFL record.

“The Rams’ seven primetime games tied the all-time record for most primetime games. The 2025 Chiefs and the 2023 Bills also played in seven primetime games,” wrote Florio.

“The Packers, Chiefs, Bills and Seahawks each have six primetime games, and the Cowboys, Eagles, Bears, Patriots and 49ers each have five primetime games.”

Incredibly, four of the Rams’ primetime games will be in the first five weeks of the 2026 campaign. The Rams will also play under the lights on Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas.

The seventh primetime matchup for the team is scheduled for Thursday, December 3.
