On Monday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers opened up their series with the San Francisco Giants (at home).

The Dodgers lost by a score of 9-3.

Shohei Ohtani finished with two strikeouts and no hits (in five at-bats).

After the loss, manager Dave Roberts announced an update on Ohtani.

Maddie Lee of The Los Angeles Times wrote: “Dave Roberts said he plans to give Shohei Ohtani a day off from hitting either Wednesday, when he pitches, or Thursday.”

Ohtani is batting .233 with 34 hits, six home runs, 16 RBI’s, 25 runs and five stolen bases in 38 games.

He is in his third season with the Dodgers.

Following three more games against the Giants, the Dodgers will visit Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night.
