Kicker Brandon McManus Delivers Message to Packers After Release

Kicker Brandon McManus experienced a very strong first season with the Green Bay Packers. But after struggling in his second season, the team elected to part ways with the veteran place-kicker.

Despite the bitter ending, McManus isn’t holding any grudges.

Following his release Friday, McManus posted a thank you message to the Packers organization, his Green Bay teammates and the team’s fans on social media.

“From the moment I arrived, you welcomed me and my family with open arms and made us feel at home,” wrote McManus. “The support, kindness, and passion you’ve shown mean more than worth can express…

“Thank you for trusting me, believing in me, and giving me the chance to be part of something so special.”

McManus saw his field-goal percentage drop from 95.2% in 2024 to 80% in 2025. He also missed an extra point during 2025 for the first time in three years.

Then against the Chicago Bears during the postseason, McManus didn’t connect on either of his field goal attempts and missed an extra point. The Packers lost 31-27.
