Ex-Browns’ David Njoku Makes $8 Million Free Agency Decision: Report

Former Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is heading west.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday morning that Njoku has agreed to a 1-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers. The deal is worth as much as $8 million.

“After nine years with Cleveland, Njoku moves on to catch passes from Justin Herbert,” wrote Rapoport on X.

Njoku was a free agent this offseason after experiencing one of the most disappointing statistical seasons of his career. In 12 games, Njoku posted 33 catches for 293 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged only 8.9 yards per reception.

The veteran tight end, though, missed five games and dealt with knee issues throughout the campaign.

The Browns drafted Njoku in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Over nine seasons in Cleveland, he registered 384 receptions, 4,062 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns.
