King Charles’s brother was forced to flee the area, hurried back to his car, and drove away from the scene. Andrew had one unarmed protection officer with him at the time, who then alerted police. </p>
<p id=”par-3_34″>Authorities said, “Officers were called shortly after 7.30 pm following a report that a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village … The man was arrested and taken in for questioning.</p>

<p id=”par-4_38″>“Alex Jenkinson, aged 39, has since been charged with two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior to harass someone or cause alarm or distress and failing to provide a specimen of blood in custody.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_58″>On May 8, Jenkinson, 39, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behavior toward Andrew. He was granted conditional bail and ordered not to contact the former prince or go near several sites linked to the royal family, including Sandringham, Buckingham Palace, Balmoral, Windsor Castle, and Highgrove House.</p>
<p id=”par-6_40″><a href=”https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2026/05/07/andrew-wants-taxpayer-funded-security-after-balaclava-scare/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Telegraph</a> reported that following the incident, sources close to Andrew say that he is now demanding that his 10-strong protection team be returned. The ex-Duke of York’s taxpayer-funded protection team was axed by King Charles in August 2024 amid the Epstein scandal.</p>
