When looking at trade candidates around the NHL, Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson stands out as a potential perfect target for the Rangers. At 26 years old, Robertson would have the potential to be a strong long-term part of the Rangers’ core as they look to head back into the right direction.

Robertson has been creating plenty of chatter in the rumor mill as a trade candidate since the Stars’ early playoff exit. With Robertson being a pending restricted free agent, the Stars could trade him if negotiations do not go well. If the Stars do make him available, expect the Rangers to be among the teams interested in him.

In 82 games this season with the Stars, Robertson had 45 goals, 51 assists, 96 points, and a plus-22 rating.

Rangers Could Land Their New First-Line Center With Blues’ Robert Thomas

Another player who the Rangers would be wise to pursue during the summer is St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas. With the Blues being in a rebuild, Thomas is a player that they have already listened to offers for in the past. This is expected to translate over to the summer, and the Rangers would be smart to try to land him because of it.

If the Rangers acquired Thomas from the Blues, he would become their new first-line center. He would also be a long-term part of the Rangers’ roster, as he is signed until the completion of the 2030-31 season. With this, the 26-year-old center who be a perfect fit on the Rangers if acquired.

Thomas had 25 goals, 39 assists, and 64 points in 64 games this season with the Blues. With these numbers, he would be a major pickup for New York.

If the Senators end up making Brady Tkachuk available for trade this offseason, the Rangers undoubtedly need to pursue him. It is no secret that New York could use a power forward on their first line, and bringing in Tkachuk would provide them with just that.
