Seahawks Could Lose Key Executive to NFC Rival After Latest Update

The Seattle Seahawks have had to do some work this offseason, but they have also enjoyed the celebration that has come with winning Super Bowl LX. Sure, the team may have lost a handful of key players and coaches over the past few months, but there’s reason to believe the Seahawks will remain one of the top squads in the league next year.

For the most part, the majority of the moves that are going to be made this offseason are already in the books, but the Minnesota Vikings are throwing a wrench in those plans by conducting a search for a new general manager. This is somewhat concerning for Seattle, because it appears as if Minnesota has its eyes on one of its top executives, Nolan Teasley.

Vikings Request to Interview Nolan Teasley for General Manager Opening

The Vikings have had an odd offseason when it comes to their general manager position. Despite signing Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to a contract extension just last year, he got fired in a surprising move earlier this offseason. Rob Brzezinski was made the team’s interim general manager, with a full search for Adofo-Mensah’s replacement set to be conducted after the 2026 NFL Draft.

Many folks figured that since Brzezinski would be leading the Vikings’ draft room, he would eventually become their full-time general manager, and while that could still happen, the team wants to conduct a thorough search first. That includes taking a closer look at Teasley, who has worked in the Seahawks’ front office since 2013.

After initially joining the team as an intern in the scouting department, Teasley gradually worked his way up the ranks, and he’s spent the past two years working alongside John Schneider as Seattle’s assistant general manager. Now, he may have a shot at a general manager gig, as the Vikings have requested to interview him for their vacant position.

“The Vikings have requested permission to interview Seahawks assistant GM Nolan Teasley for their vacant GM position, sources tell NFL on CBS,” Jonathan Jones reported in a post on X. “Teasley has been with Seattle over a dozen years, including the past two seasons as AGM, while winning two Lombardis.”

Given his close working relationship with Schneider, it’s pretty clear that losing Teasley would be a big blow for the Seahawks. Again, there’s a decent chance the Vikings just make Brzezinski their full-time general manager, but they are casting a wide net initially when it comes to this general manager search, so they could very well hire an external candidate.

It’s still very early in Minnesota’s hiring process, but Teasley’s work with the Seahawks over the past decade has earned him his fair share of fans across the league. It’s tough to truly know who the frontrunner for this gig currently is, but Teasley will be a name worth keeping tabs on given how he just helped Seattle win a Super Bowl last season.
