Going into Game 5 against the Denver Nuggets, Julius Randle of the Minnesota Timberwolves was hit with a fine from the NBA.
During the Nuggets-Timberwolves Game 4 matchup in Minnesota, Randle watched his teammate Jaden McDaniels score a late basket while the game was decided. As a result, Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets stormed the Timberwolvesâ standout.
Randle, a seasoned NBA veteran, rushed over along with members of both teams. The dust-up did not escalate enough to warrant suspensions after the incident was further investigated by the NBA. However, Randle did land a fine from the league. It was not his first.

Early on in Randleâs career, he played for the Los Angeles Lakers. He picked up his first fine in the league as a member of the Lakers. Randle had to pay $15,000 for making an âobscene gesture.â That happened in April of 2016.
For several seasons, Randle avoided trouble with the league. His next fine wouldnât come until 2020-2021, when Randle was with the New York Knicks. He was hit with a $15,000 fine for âdirecting inappropriate language toward a game officialâ after a game.
In the following season, Randle landed another $15,000 fine in October for throwing the ball into the stands. Later that season, Randle was fined several times.
In January 2022, Randle was fined $25,000 for profane language during a postgame media interview. When March rolled around, Randle picked up a $50,000 fine for having an on-court altercation with Cam Johnson. At the time, the Nuggets forward was with the Phoenix Suns. 16 days later, Randle was fined $40,000 more for âhostile languageâ at an official.
A few years later, Randle picked up another fine. It was his first non-technical foul fine as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The NBAâs official statement noted that Randle was hit with the fine because he âescalated the incident by forcefully inserting himself into the scrumâ and shoving. Randle was ejected and fined $35,000 for his involvement.
