On Thursday afternoon, the Chicago White Sox will play the final game of their series with the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix.
The White Sox and Diamondbacks are tied up at 1-1, so whoever wins on Thursday will take the series.

Before Thursday’s game, the White Sox announced that they had made a roster decision on Lucas Sims.
He has gone 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA in nine games this year.
Brooke Fletcher of Chicago Sports Network wrote: “Roster move ahead of the finale in Arizona. #WhiteSox select RHP Tyler Davis from AAA Charlotte and designate Lucas Sims for assignment.
Davis has been trending in the right direction, too… four straight scoreless outings, no hits allowed, and six strikeouts over his last 5.2 innings.”
Sims’ MLB Career

Sims was picked in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves.
He spent the first one and a half seasons of his career playing for the franchise.
Following the Braves, Sims was traded to the Cincinnati Reds in a deal for Adam Duvall.

Sims had the longest tenure of his career with the Reds (part of seven seasons).
Following the Reds, the 31-year-old then had quick stints with the Boston Red Sox and Washington Nationals (before the White Sox).
Over 272 career games, he has gone 23-21 with a 4.85 ERA.
@RedsInFour wrote (on June 16, 2024): “Lucas Sims was 6th in all of baseball among all pitchers in Win Probability Added in 2023. He had a 3.97 ERA on the season coming into this appearance and a 0.96 ERA in the month of May.”
White Sox And Braves Right Now
The White Sox are currently the fourth-place team in the American League Central with a 9-15 record in 24 games.
Following the Diamondbacks, they will return home to host the Nationals.
Meanwhile, the Braves are the top team in the National League East with a 17-8 record in 25 games.
After one more game against the Nationals, they will return home to host the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night in Georgia.
