Falcons’ Kyle Pitts Trade Prediction Sends Star To AFC Ahead Of Draft

ESPN’s Adam Schefter recently stirred up the rumor mill with his latest column just days before the 2026 NFL Draft. One of those rumors involved Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr.

Schefter explained that even though Minnesota Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard and Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown are the top trade candidates available leading up to the draft, Pitts is one who “could gain interest.”

Pitts has continued to be named a potential trade candidate for the Falcons, but Schefter’s report carries more weight than just about any other member of the media.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay has followed that up with a major prediction on where the fifth-year tight end could land.

Titans Named Strong Trade Fit For Kyle Pitts

One team that Kay believes could make a lot of sense for Pitts would have him staying in the South, moving from Atlanta to Nashville with the Tennessee Titans.

“The Tennessee Titans could look to capitalize on a rejuvenated Pitts being available in a trade. Tennessee allowed incumbent starter Chig Okonkwo to depart in free agency this offseason and doesn’t have a viable replacement on the roster,” Kay wrote. “While fourth-round rookie Gunnar Helm showed some promise last year, Pitts would immediately slot in as the team’s TE1 and become a focal point of the offense.”

Okonkwo had a career season last year, finishing with 56 receptions for 560 yards. He was held to only two touchdowns, though, which is not too surprising considering the Titans had one of the NFL’s worst offenses.

But there is a new regime now in Tennessee, and ultimately everything is about building around second-year quarterback Cam Ward.

“If the Titans want to build around rising star Cam Ward, it would behoove the organization to put a strong offer for Pitts on the table during the 2026 draft,” Kay added. “The tight end would be an ideal red-zone target and safety valve in offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s system, while still being young enough at 25 to continue improving alongside Ward if he receives a contract extension from the Titans.”

Falcons Have Clear Reason To Listen On Pitts

Pitts finally had a bounce-back season in 2025 after struggling with inconsistency over the previous three years. He logged 88 catches for five touchdowns and came just shy of his second 1,000-yard season with 928 yards.

That’s why there may be no better time for the Falcons and new general manager Ian Cunningham to move him. While it would be nice to see what Pitts could do in new head coach Kevin Stefanski’s offense, the Falcons have much more pressing needs and minimal draft picks to work with.

“Tennessee is sitting on nine total selections — including four within the first 101 slots — and should not hesitate to parlay some of these into one of the league’s most uniquely talented tight ends,” Kay wrote.

Cunningham hasn’t been shy about the Falcons needing to find a way to add more draft capital. They have just five picks in this year’s draft and will be without a first-round selection.

“We’ll be watching and see what happens (in the first round),” Cunningham told The Athletic’s Josh Kendall. “Who knows?”

It’s doubtful that the Titans would offer their No. 4 overall pick to the Falcons in exchange for Pitts. Regardless, adding just about any additional draft capital at this point is important.
