Los Angeles Dodgers Star Shohei Ohtani Made History In Rockies Game

On Saturday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers played the Colorado Rockies (in Denver).

The Dodgers lost by a score of 4-3.

Shohei Ohtani finished the loss with one hit and one run in four at-bats.

Despite the loss, Ohtani made major history.

Dodgers Insider wrote: “Shohei Ohtani has tied Hall of Famer Willie Keeler (1900-1901 seasons) for the third-longest on-base streak in Dodger history at 50 games with his ninth-inning single.”

Ohtani is in the middle of another fantastic year.

The future Hall of Famer is batting .264 with 19 hits, five home runs, ten RBI’s and 12 runs in 19 games.

Jack Harris of The California Post wrote: “Shohei Ohtani’s on-base streak lives after all After an infield, pinch-hit single from Will Smith with two outs in the ninth, Ohtani sends a base hit through the right side of the infield His streak is up to 50 games now”

Ohtani And The Dodgers

Ohtani has been one of the best free agent signings in MLB history.

In each of his first two seasons with the Dodgers, they have won the World Series Championship.

He has also won the MVP Award in both years (and is among the best pitchers in the MLB).

Sarah Lang of MLB.com wrote: “Longest on-base streaks, Dodgers since 1900:

1954 Duke Snider: 58 games 2000 Shawn Green: 53 2025-26 Shohei Ohtani: 50 *active 1900-01 Willie Keeler: 50 1975-76 Ron Cey: 47”

Even with the loss to the Rockies, the Dodgers are still 15-5 in their first 20 games, which has them at the top of the National League West.

On the road, they have gone 6-2 in eight games played away from Los Angeles.

Following two more games against the Rockies, the Dodgers will remain on the road to visit the San Francisco Giants on April 21.

They will then return home to host the Chicago Cubs on April 24 in Los Angeles.
