LSG Predicted to Drop Bowler For 150 KM Pacer Ahead of RCB Match

IPL 2026 cricket is one of the most exciting sports around. The points table is starting to get harder to climb as we approach the middle of the tournament. The next match on the docket is the Lucknow Super Giants versus the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Along with the match, comes an update on Avesh Khan, Mayank Yadav, and Mohsin Khan.

It is sure to be an entertaining match today, as the reigning IPL champions clash with LSG. LSG is looking to quickly brush off their latest loss, and a predicted change to the XI just might do the trick.

With that in mind, here are match predictions, a pitch report, and the full list of players for both teams ahead of today’s clash between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

LSG vs RCB Match Predictions

The odds certainly favor RCB in this matchup, considering that they are higher on the points table than LSG. RCB has a more balanced side than LSG, with their big bats contributing as much as their bowlers are.

Google favors RCB in this match, giving them a 62 percent win probability, leaving a 38 percent winning probability to LSG.

Even though LSG has struggled to generate runs at various points, they are predicted to make a bowling change, rather than a batting one.

Mayank Yadav & Avesh Khan

LSG’s Tom Moody has revealed that pacer Mayank Yadav is ready to bowl.

“Mayank is ready to go,” Moody said on Tuesday via ESPNcricinfo. “He has worked exceptionally hard. But that does give us a selection headache because our bowling has been pretty solid so far. We just haven’t produced the runs to support that.”

Additionally, Moody revealed that Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan are also good to go, with Mohsin needing one final test to be match ready.

This is good news for LSG, as it gives them another bowling weapon to utilize. Prince Yadav and Mohammad Shami have led the team’s bowling side, throwing six wickets and four wickets respectively. As Moody mentioned, bowling has been a strength.

However, ESPNcricinfo is predicting that Mayank will be inserted into the playing XI at the expense of Avesh Khan.

“If Mayank plays, it could be at the expense of Avesh Khan,” the outlet predicts. “Another LSG quick returning from injury. While he has gone at 10.40 per over so far, Avesh’s experience could still prove valuable and keep him in contention at different stages this season.”

Mayank has yet to bowl this tournament. Avesh has three wickets in three matches, with a 2/36 best figures. Mohsin played LSG’s opening match and hasn’t seen a match since. He delivered superb overs for LSG, posting a figure of 1/19 with a maiden over in four overs of deliveries.

Mohsin is the only bowler in the IPL this year to have a maiden over.

If Mayank is brought into the XI, his ability to bring pace will certainly be utilized in this match. Mayank consistently brings at least 150 km/h pace every delivery. This makes him a great option if the pitch favors fast bowlers.

LSG vs RCB Pitch Report

According to CricTracker, the pitch at Chinnaswamy favors batting considerably.

“The pitch at the iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, is known to be a batting paradise,” the outlet reports. “And that can be seen from the two IPL 2026 matches the venue has hosted so far. In both of the games, the scores have been in the excess of 200 runs, and that shows the flat nature of the pitch. The teams will prefer to chase on this ground, so the toss can be a crucial factor.”

If there is any pitch in the IPL where LSG can get their bats going, it’s this one. Aiden Markram and Rishabh Pant are the only batters to reach 100 runs this season. For this squad to achieve any level of success, they will need to find a way to wake up and start delivering some victories.
