LA Clippers Announce Kawhi Leonard Status For Warriors Game

On Wednesday evening, the LA Clippers will play the Golden State Warriors (at home) for the play-in tournament.

The Clippers also played the Warriors on the final day of the regular season (on Sunday).

They won by a score of 115-110 (and Kawhi Leonard did not play).

For Wednesday’s game, the Clippers have announced that Leonard is not on the injury report.

He will be available.

Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints wrote:Isaiah Jackson is QUESTIONABLE for tomorrow’s Clippers-Warriors game.

Kawhi Leonard is not listed on the injury report and expected to play.”

Leonard finished the regular season with averages of 27.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals per contest while shooting 50.5% from the field and 38.7% from three-point range in 65 games.

He has been with the Clippers since the summer of 2019.

When healthy, Leonard is still one of the best 15 players in the NBA.

The Clippers finished the regular season as the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 42-40 record.

They are 6-4 over their last ten games (and 23-18 in 41 games at home).

Last season, the Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

The Clippers have had an up-and-down tenure since Leonard joined the franchise.

They reached the 2021 Western Conference finals (when Leonard was out).

In addition, the team has recently moved on from players such as Paul George, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Ivica Zubac.

ESPN’s Anthony Slater wrote (on April 12): “It’ll be Warriors-Clippers in the 9 v 10 play-in game on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. Winner gets the loser of Blazers-Suns on Friday night for the 8th seed.”

Leonard’s NBA Career

Leonard was picked 15th in the 2011 NBA Draft out of San Diego State.

He spent the first seven years of his career with the San Antonio Spurs, winning one title and making two All-Star Games.

The future Hall of Famer then spent one year with the Toronto Raptors (and led them to the 2019 NBA Championship over the Warriors).

His career averages are 20.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per contest while shooting 49.9% from the field and 39.1% from three-point range in 798 games.
